FAQ

Bookkeeping
What can Professional Bookkeeping Services do for me?

Purchase invoices and payments, bank transactions, petty cash, credit cards, accruals & prepayments and all month end entries. Reconciliation of everything possible including bank, VAT, PAYE and suppliers’ statements. Clients handle any stock or order processing, create sales invoices, input the sales receipts and chase debtors. Optionally we can assist with the sales ledger. Complete payroll service and submission of Tax Returns.

We have a system which isn’t Xero – would you handle this?
So that we can be highly skilled and efficient we only run Xero. We will convert any system to  Xero. Often such a change saves a great deal of money every year as the old system can be costly in comparison, not only in maintenance but in much greater staff time required to run the system. This is such a hidden cost that most businesses are not even aware of it.

How are you different to other book-keepers?
In a word – quality.

What are your fees?
We offer a fixed monthly fee dependant on which service you require, this means you will always know your costs.

Can you sort out a backlog of paperwork?
Yes, contact us for a quote.

Do I need to outsource my bookkeeping?
We can provide you with all the Xero systems training that you need. Ultimately, the decision to outsource is entirely yours. Using Xero means that you choose how little or how much of your bookkeeping to outsource. If you choose to outsource, you can do so in the full knowledge that we  will always be on the lookout for smart ideas that could help to make your life and business easier. The end question is: do you want to spend your time on bookkeeping or would you rather be doing something else?

Pension Auto Enrolment
Does it affect us?

By April 2017 all employers must have a suitable pension auto enrolment scheme in place, running as part of their payroll.

Can you help us with auto enrolment because it’s a worry?
Yes, that’s our role. We make it straightforward, saving you time and unnecessary headaches.

What are your fees?
We charge according to numbers on the payroll.

Do I need to register for VAT?
You can apply to be VAT registered at any time
The threshold when you have to register for VAT is amended each year, if there is any chance of going over it you should speak to us to consider what to do.
Once VAT registered (which we can take care of), you are required to file VAT returns every 3 months and pay any VAT due to HMRC.  Again, we will let you know of all dates and deadlines, and will complete your VAT return in good time.
